It was reported when Klopp took the Red Bull job that there's a mechanism in place to allow him to become Germany manager after the World Cup, so that probably explains it. Can only think the answer from Pep was no, so they've gone for what they consider the next best available. Can't say I disagree much either, generally been impressed with Tuchel.

I get the impression he wants do something similar to Ralf Rangnick and prove himself by really transforming a club. I'm hoping that as long we're making progress towards his aims here, it will have to take an offer from a truly elite club to snatch him away.

Bit baffled about where this questionable injury record has come from? He had an ankle break on loan at Blackburn, and he had a hamstring injury with us, that was aggravated when we tried to rush him back against QPR. These things happen. The lack of game time at Man City and Leeds is explained by them having better players at the time, surely?
