  1. I've said it before but is dad is 90, he's got some serious wedge coming on the horizon which is why he is able to act like he does. If he was spaffing everything he had personally made and wasn't getting handed another lump in the future, he might actually be trying to recoup what he could.
  2. I don't the forum referring to Thais, it's referring to Chansiris...which is why they say 'some notorious Thais'. Those that hope 'The Family' are going to step in because of shame and embarrassment should have a look at some of the TUF stuff.
  3. For me, if you are coming with ambition and money then as far as a business plan is concerned, PL is a foregone conclusion....so you are just paying £50m over the odds. I think you summed up in your last sentence because frankly on a purely commercial basis, we are probably one of the least attractive propositions in the country. Aside from the obvious day to day stuff, we don't own our training ground, we have a millstone of a stadium that doesn't sit on a big enough plot of land for redevelopment. Of course this is not how football clubs are valued and there is brand value but we are not an enormous multi-national brand commanding respect all over the world so that has it's limitations.
  4. The best thing to come out of all of this is that we know 2 things. 1. SWFC will survive, one day he will be gone. We will still be here. 2. He will eventually be back in Thailand with his tail between his legs with nothing but a £100m black hole to show for his attitude, ineptitude and disdain of fans. We know 100% for sure that he cannot afford this. Unfortunately it wont finish him because his dad is 90-odd and he will probably get another chunk to spaff somewhere.
  5. Yeah, commercial lease so almost certainly 'full repairing' with SWFC paying all stadium costs.
  6. Why would any buyer agree to this? If the club was on a sound footing and Premier League 'ready' then a seller could reasonably expect future reward for the building blocks they have put in place. Every single thing needs to be improved upon all of which has to be funded by the buyers. Once you've dropped £500 million to get there, why would you hand tens of millions over to previous owner. There may be a £5m promotion sweetener or something like that but nobody is putting £50+ million in the backend of a deal.
  7. Because they are at a dead end. Chansiri not negotiating and gave no counter offer. They want to buy the club but door is closed, might as well try to exert some external pressure even if it's just a hail mary.
  8. Thought he came across well. Pretty much called Chansiri a nutter in a polite way. 'A unique way of doing business to say the least' I think was the quote.
  9. Maybe DC is front-loading as much as he can because he knows he's on the way out and hopes the new buyers won't notice that he's put the club on the hook for a few mill more. Wishful thinking but it's fair to say that he really is that stupid.
  10. Yeah, I have no real knowledge of Symon or Adam Shaw but I think the way they have both conducted themselves seems like some kind of vanity project and opportunism. I'm not saying they don't want what's best for the club but think they might be blind to what is actually best for the club because of their own egos/desperation to be involved
  11. Birmingham stadium development costing between £2 & £3 BILLION. He's been incredibly naive, stupid or disingenuous to claim you can only put £13m a season in so don't need to be rich.
  12. Disrespectful to Bizzle. You can't lump him in with faux ITKers, wannabee owners and social media Johnny come lately's. The Bizzle has earned OT's respect.
  13. Is this thread infinite...if we never get a denial, will we just keep going 50 pages a day until the internet is full?
  14. 17 years, 2 months & 15 days. Apparently I nicked someone else's username but not sure how that works.
  15. DC's dad is 89. There's money coming. Could be DC is holding out for it which explains why he is willing to keep funding the club even when he clearly can't or could be time for family to step in to make sure DC doesn't spaff the family fortune once he gets his hands on it.
  16. They will. Eventually. We are, on paper, a very unattractive proposition for investors. The stadium is a millstone on a site not big enough for any form of significant redevelopment, the training ground is unsuitable (and leased) so significant new land is needed and serious investment. Birmingham sold for £35m but the land it's stadium sits on is prime city centre real estate that was estimated to be worth £50m at the time of the takeover. 1 by 1, the 'good' opportunities are being bought up and there aren't that many left...by default, we are getting closer to the top of the list but without a willing seller at a sensible price, it's irrelevant.
  17. Yep. It might be one of the most ineffective performances I have ever seen from a footballer.
  18. In DC's shoes a smart move would be to let Southampton have DR in the summer at a reduced compo rate in exchange for Charles plus 2 other quality loans in January to give DR the best opportunity to get us up this year. It's a win win.
  19. This is exactly it. Röhl's style leaves us exposed at the back (not a criticism) and we don't have the defence to deal with it (a criticism). We are truly awful from set pieces and that is beyond players not good enough, it also comes down to coaching.
  20. My son did this for Arsenal (don't ask-he's a Wednesday fan)...it's free and randomly drawn from junior members. They get to go in the dressing room with the players, get a full kit, 4 free match tickets and the ability to buy 4 more at a low price. He got Arsenal v Liverpool and we all had a great day out!!
  21. http://www.ebay.co.uk/str/r107partsltd Automotive tools from Blue Point, Power Probe and Portable Power. We've now completed over 75,000 eBay orders with 100% positive feedback. Use discount code OT8SEPT24 for 8% off everything.
  22. Add a fiver to a season ticket and include a free ticket to a pre-season friendly against them at Hillsborough. Nobody going to miss the £5 and some will enjoy going to the game. Even after costs of putting the fixture on, they should get £50k out of it. Create a connection between the clubs, £50 season ticket for Wednesday season ticket holders, only valid when Wednesday are away. There are plenty of ways to generate continued revenue without the £1m+ needed to put a 3g pitch in but those running the club need to be more dynamic rather than just releasing this 'we need £40k' message which smacks of using the begging bowl to get an easy solution.
  23. What's that supposed to mean...that we are too stupid to understand your point? You originally said we were not top 30 by any metric but now you've backtracked to say you are only talking about league position. It's not that I'm too stupid to understand what you mean, you've changed what you were talking about. My point is, who cares. 30th, 31st, 32nd, 35th...what's the difference...they are all just a measure of how far this great club has fallen.
  24. It's a pointless measurement. Who cares who the 30th biggest club is anyway? 40+ years of chronic mismanagement have robbed Wednesday of their proper position in English football. We might be a top 30 club, we might not be...the shame of it all is that's what we have been relegated to arguing about.
