Also whether it would be allowed to re-seat home season ticket holders in order to accommodate away fans… Sounds to me like it would spark more refund requests.

The Star - Good Chance Hillsborough Loan Won't Be Rolled Over
Dan™ replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Am I misremembering or was there something potentially questionable about the organisation (or the person who is behind the organisation) where we borrowed this money from? Hopefully this is good news, and not just the start of an even more fractured situation with multiple parties soon to be holding us hostage rather than just the current one. -
Most of these (by the club's own admission) will have been bought last year, before there was any hint of Danny having a falling out and while we were in touching distance of the play-offs. Expect an even more significant drop-off when next season's STs go on sale...

That translation ChatGPT gave you isn't anything like what's on your banner though Although it looks like the picture is AI generated anyway, so hardly the end of the world.

My parents watch it, so I've had a fair few doses of their output from being at their house over the years. You're right that they do have many interesting talking points and raise some genuinely important issues from time to time which don't necessarily get much airtime elsewhere, it was actually a surprising revelation to me that they do have some value as an organisation. Unfortunately, for all the interesting talking points they have, it's intermingled with far too much utter nonsense. I'm not an expert on many subject areas, but despite my limited exposure to watching it, the number of times I've had to step in and correct something to my parents that GB News has suggested is fact (usually disguised as an opinion) is frightening. They show such a blatant disregard for the truth that I can't take the real issues they raise without a hefty dose of doubt. You certainly can't take many of their guests' opinions at face value, because they're often either being intentionally misleading, or have been misled themselves. The worst part is, when I point out the misinformation to my parents they don't immediately believe me. Fair enough, so I then go and research it to find out for sure, but then they're not interested to see my research and still believe that almighty GB News couldn't just be lying straight to their faces. It's very scary to see, especially if their viewership is growing nationally.

You misunderstood. He was trying to get safe stands at Hillsborough, not safe standing.
-
This makes me a bit sad that the first game isn't at home. If the players walk off away at Leicester it would probably create quite a hostile response from the crowd, but just imagine the scenes had they walked off to cheers and claps from the three remaining stands at Hillsborough. That would have made for a brilliant spectacle for the news to latch on to, especially if it was also live on Sky.

Should the players strike v Leicester?
Dan™ replied to HirstWhoScoredIt's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Eh? It's nothing to do with nuance. "Do I think" they should strike is still a different question to whether I would support them if they did. I can't honestly say if they should because where that potentially leads to worries me. I'm 50/50 on that question, but if they did strike I'd be completely behind them 100%. -

Dan™ replied to HirstWhoScoredIt's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Asking whether they should strike is a different question to whether you'd support it if they did. I've no idea on the first answer of whether they should, but I'd wholeheartedly support them if they did. -
Jamal Lowe interview upcoming on Sky Sports News
Dan™ replied to satellitekid's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think people are making too big of a deal out of him "speaking out," he didn't go out of his way to have this interview, Sky literally just put a microphone in his face as he arrived for training and asked him for his thoughts. He's not going to be kicked out of the club by a raging Chansiri for what he just said FFS Good on Jamal for accepting the interview offer and giving us all a little bit of insight though. Certainly more than the club itself are doing. -
The EFL cannot remove Chansiri. If the club doesn’t fulfil its fixtures there’s every likelihood that after 3 or 4 abandoned games we’ll find ourselves out of the league permanently. And that still doesn’t guarantee Chansiri leaves. There are no easy decisions at this point and pressuring him with a player strike might be the best move at this stage (who knows), but everyone has to be aware that the EFL is 100% more likely to remove us from the league than remove Chansiri if it doesn’t work.
-
I gather that test is carried out every year. The problem is that he doesn’t break anything on it.
-
It's potentially worth noting that the new football regulator will only have power over the top 5 tiers, so if we do find ourselves kicked out of the EFL then the likelihood is that Chansiri would be safe from forced removal, should he for some unknown reason still wish to continue running the club. I can't see how that would be what he's purposefully aiming for, but with this guy, who knows.

Armed Forces Owls leaves SWFC Engagement Panel
Dan™ replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Probably a coordinated move, so expect to see other groups from the engagement panel posting the same very soon... -
Andy Giddings - Players possibly refusing to play.
Dan™ replied to SallyCinnamon's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I don't know what I support any more. As much as I want Chansiri out, not fulfilling fixtures is a scary proposition. There's a chance it works and forces his hand, but if he still doesn't sell, which he has shown little desire to, then it will effectively result in the end of the club playing in the English Football League. I struggle to wish for that, and ironically might even protect him from being forced out by the regulator if they only have power over the top 4 or 5 tiers. It's all just very saddening. -
Unless absolutely no one goes and we 'protest' by having a completely empty stand (which I can't see happening), I think the trust are correct that having as many people there actively protesting will make the biggest impact. An away stand partially filled with relatively apathetic fans who primarily just want to go and support the team because the fans actually interested in protesting chose to stay away isn't going to achieve anything useful.

Simon Jordan suggested buying SWFC to another person
Dan™ replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I thought it was several weeks before Textor came on the scene that it was first suggested Jordan had pointed Turk in our direction. -
I don't see why they wouldn't be taken seriously while retaining his input. After all, it was his earlier revelations about Chansiri's past behaviour, such as the stories of him changing the terms of deals already agreed in principle at the last moment that really shone a light on why we're in this mess in the first place. He's not an official spokesperson of the trust, but he has (or had) insight into how shoddily the club has been run and I don't think I'm alone in finding the knowledge he has to be useful for turning people's opinions against Chansiri and encouraging people to act.
-
Genuine question, why? I don't follow his Twitter so I'm ignoring the fluff he might post on there, but personally speaking, his input over the past few months since he first appeared on the YouTube podcasts has provided some of the most interesting and enlightening info regarding our situation and what has been going off behind the scenes. I'd certainly want to hear more about what he's witnessed.

Is it not important that SWFC is a limited company, and therefore its directors (ie. Chansiri) are indemnified from being personally liable for any wrongdoing by the company? Hopefully someone can clarify, because someone should be ultimately responsible for any wrongdoing...

North Stand season ticket terms and conditions
Dan™ replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The T&C's haven't been changed recently, at least not according to records on the Wayback Machine. The only significant changes since the Covid season are the addition of clauses 4.4, 4.5, 4.6 and 4.7 (which were already added by May 2022), as well as the addition of clause 10.3 (by May 2023) which states the club acts as a credit broker not a lender when you sign up with V12 Finance. That last point also mentions we're registered with the Financial Conduct Authority with the number 686180, if that's of any relevance for people trying to claim money back via credit cards. Assuming we're talking about this page: https://tickets.swfc.co.uk/screenloader.aspx?type=include&page=usercontent/documents/html/genre/terms.html -
That doesn’t make sense, he can put us into admin whenever he likes.

Oxford United and MK Dons making a big push for Paterson
Dan™ replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday

I think what @lurkingowl meant with the 500k claim was that we had that many members registered to purchase tickets, not the number of people paying for actual £50p.a. memberships. We currently have over 450,000 people signed up and registered to purchase tickets on SWFC.co.uk, for anyone interested. Considering the fanbase is pretty much the only thing this club has left, we're selling ourselves incredibly short by playing down how big we are.

Unless we find a way to go back in time to start teaching kids about AI at least 10 years ago I think we might be doomed.
