Rest in peace, fellow owl
-
It is split about 90% in favour of staying at Hillsborough. One thing I have noticed is that fans for moving tend to either not be from Sheff, or have little family ties to Wednesday. For me, it is a no-brainer, and TBH I am not sure I'd want to even go again if we moved away, just do the odd away game instead perhaps. Can you imagine seeing the old girl being bulldozed? houses or a giant Lidl built in its place? Nah, I would be beyond gutted. Just do what the clubs that have kept their heritage, like Villa, have done and put some work into it.

Is a football atmosphere that important?
Greeny79 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It is ONE of the most important things in football IMHO Just look at the games when we have had big numbers and big noise, I bet our W/L/D and GF/GA would be interesting. It usually spurs the players on, which spurs the fans on, etc, etc -
A clueless set of fans, the only hardship they know is being Celtic fans. up the Gers

Do we think he was just thick, ignorant, arrogant & narcissistic or wanted to destroy the club out of sheer malice? Seems to me he was all of the above, just wondering if it was him being Thick as shyte but not malicious on purpose. Actually, I do not even care now, he has gone, and that is the main thing. Chans-who? Warra Muppet

How much branding / high prices would you accept?
Greeny79 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
New owners will need to lower prices, so many fans have become disillusioned with the club/football in general, and we need to get them back. If they are smart operators, they will see this. Need to stop pricing the working class out of their game. £30 is plenty and IMHO too much, everyone's chuffin brasic. -
Blow torch team needed for North Stand seats
Greeny79 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No blow-torch expert, but I was going to start a thread asking if there was a way I could help myself. There are a few issues, and this is not just a selfless offering, I admit, as I feel I would benefit from being out & about more due to being pretty isolated & depressed I am disabled (spinal cord injury, but managed to regain some functions, thankfully, maybe 30%) due to pain, Insomnia and being on more drugs than you'd find at a rave in the 90s (prescription ones, obvs) I am about as reliable as a Thai footy chairman, so could only turn up on a "good" day which are pretty rare tbh, Also I am at tother end of Sheff (Lowedges/Greenhill) and have no transport so it would mean a taxi or something and they are like £45 each time I have a hospital appt at the NGH, thus it is not really something I can afford and one reason I have not made a game since my Injury like 6/7 years ago. I'd be willing to do pretty much anything within my capabilities (fairly limited, but I can hobble about with my orthotic bionic leg thing until the pain knocks me out). I'd especially enjoy trashing anything Chansiri, though. Also, timing is not great as everything is worse in the cold/wet months, unfortunately. Like I said, it is not purely selfless as I would benefit from being out and about, and especially being in Hillsborough, as my last time was either Leeds or Villa at home years ago (The play-off comeback killed me not being there as I knew we could do it) and the feel-good factor of doing something to help the club I have loved since my first game as a five year old, etc, as financially I can't do much. Is there some kind of volunteer scheme? If not, is it the sort of thing we could perhaps work towards setting up? I am kinda thinking out loud here, so ignore me if it all sounds ridiculous. Cheers UTO -
Yeah, I thought so, probably some Chancer dictator rule he was trying out. Not bought a Wednesday Shirt since the old Black one from around 2005, as they went from like £29.99 to £60 time ago, can't make many games and not exactly flush but wanna contribute a bit.

What are the sizes like for the shirts, guys? I am a bit of a heffer, usually XL for stuff like Adidas t-shirts, etc, but some t-shirts, even 2xl are like wearing a tattoo (especially more "on-trend" stuff), and I don't like stuff TOO baggy. I can't get to the store, so I have to order online, and it looks like they do not do returns for size issues. Erm..tha knows what I mean

27/10/2015 - Wednesday 3 Arsenal 0

10 years??? Faaaaaaakkkkkkkkk -
No, our away following is a separate entity entirely, it shows the lads we still support them and love the club, making it look even more farcical for Chansiri when people see the contrast to the Home situation, he gets barely anything also. Boycotting away games makes no sense IMHO. If someone has bought a season ticket, they should go and not be made to feel crap about it, as he already has that money. (I have not been for a while home or away)

To everyone that went on the pitch

Need to be 1000s doing it with an agreed amount of time, say 5 mins, then leave. Or stay on and get the game called off! -

For me, that is a MASSIVE no, Hillsborough is a HUGE part of my attachment and love for Wednesday, I can not comprehend it being demolished and a giant Aldi or whatever being built on the site, I am not even sure I would care anymore if that happened, to me it is a magical place, I can still remember vividly my dad taking me to my fort match at five years old in the mid 80s (we beat Luton 3-2) and then going most weeks till the late 90s and all the other memories, I get that buzz and rush of nostalgia every time. It needs a lot of work; the lep should have been pulled down 30 years ago, but it could easily be turned into what it deserves to be; it has just been badly neglected. I seem to notice that most Owls born and bred in Sheffield feel more like this than those with less connections to the city in general, not throwing shade, just something I have noticed speaking to people.

DNA I can remember being about 5/6 and being shocked that other kids supported other clubs, smelly little bstrds

United, Leeds etc fans views
Greeny79 replied to Earlsfieldowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
A mixture, more towards laughing but I do not think they believe for one moment we are in SERIOUS danger of going under. anyone who wants or celebrates such a thing is no football fan, I would not like to see it happen to the snortbeasts or Leeeeds etc, etc (maybe relegated to the conference) -
It's Tilman Fertitta, according to a couple of '90s Legends and my guy on the inside When I say on the inside, I mean Doncatraz, but he's usually reliable

Does it need asking? It was long enough before we last got relegated. Need to be making MUCH more noise about it. Our fan base, considering how loud we are, can be so/too placid at times. Narcissistic bullies only understand one language.
