  1. Vangelis- Conquest of paradise was epic, you just knew the Wednesday match was minutes away and it helped build the excitement up.
  2. Very sad news. Made SWFC respectful and steady again, always got the club and the fans and never made it or the club about him. Sad day, RIP and
  3. Emley also has a breeze block perimeter wall around 2/3rds of the ground, I imagine they will be looking at any safety aspect. As an aside, there was a minutes silence for the deceased player before the game on Saturday between Emley and Consett, during the game, a Consett player pushed an Emley player in the back forcing him to collide with the wall, no free kick, no booking, no talking to, bizarre, given the circumstances of the sad news.
  4. I watch Emley in the NPL D1 East, currently unbeaten in the league and second behind Bradford PA. Saturday, I went to Blyth Town and saw a 1-0 win with a last minute winner, it peed it down all day, and I met Peter Beardsley, one of my heroes from the past, he was great and spent time chatting to and having pictures taken with Emley fans and was very complimentary about the team and the fans who had travelled to Blyth. Emley are back up to Blyth again next month to face the more famous Blyth club, Spartans.
  5. Emley have just signed former Wednesday defender Connor O' Grady on loan from Cleethorpes Town for a month and also signed former Owls academy player Carlos Rodrigues.
  6. Feel free, to what? "Some random youth player in attack"
  7. Gutted I like it though that's all that counts
  8. The way I see things is thus: Do you love Wednesday? Do you want to see Wednesday be a proper, sustainable, normal football club that you can be proud of? If yes, Then you have to boycott If no, you're blade and might as well ******** bounce!
  9. Like anyone can take UEFA/FIFA seriously when it comes to the moral high ground!
  10. Henrik had a dream To build a football team We had no players, couldn't even sign them on loan With kids at the back, Ugbo in attack We're Sheffield Wednesday We want our club back
  11. Think I saw a figure of around 3,500
  12. Sadly we know this won't happen, unless the trust and other supporters really, REALLY, push it. My mate at the game last night said he would be going as it's "a big game" but isn't that the perfect opportunity to get a solid message to everyone, including Chansiri? What better statement to make than having a big Yorkshire derby in the cup on TV with just a couple of thousand of cheast Ws in attendance?
  13. Yes, don't buy a ticket and donate the money to charity and stand outside the ground and protest peacefully.
  14. I have the same question, I've emailed Wednesday but of course, got no reply. If I don't hear anything I'll ring tomorrow and just go to Bolton anyway
  15. NPL D1 East kicks off on Friday night, Emley v Silsden, £10 for adults if anyone fancies some non league stuff?
  16. Went to Emley 0-3 Barnsley a couple of weeks ago, a crowd of 1,500 saw 3 good quality goals from a decent Barnsley side. Many Barnsley fans were very impressed with the welcome, ground and set up at Emley, many hadn't been to a non league ground before and were stunned that there wasn't an away end or that you can stand at the side of the pitch next to opposition fans and even have a drink! Hopefully many of them will come back again when not watching Barnsley? Emley also beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 in a pre season game.
  17. Not anymore, R1 are moving back to Bradford for next season. Same thing happened with Steeton/Silsden a few years back before Silsden moved back to Silsden.
  18. Yeah, It's a lateral move, same level (step) different geographical league.
  19. Excellent ground, they also took voluntary relegation from NCELP a couple of seasons ago because they claimed they couldn't afford to pay what other clubs were paying players and they had to rely on their development players etc.
  20. Yes, Swallownest have been moved from NCEL to United Counties to accommodate Route One Rovers who have been moved over from the NWCL, yet Louth Town remain in NCEL.
  21. I don't know anyone who has a problem with Hallam, their ground and pitch maybe but not the club itself. I think it's more to do with the annoying bandwagon fans they've picked up. I have no problem personally, the more people watching non league the better for me, but leave all the EFL crap out of it.
  22. Familiar story of dodgy owner unable/unwilling to fund the club properly leading to its demise.
  23. First time I've ever been to Hillsborough as a neutral. I was originally seated near the back towards the Hallam side, whilst there was a fair bit of noise from the younger Hallam fans at the front with the drum, some of them around me were exceptionally annoying. Not many local accents, not many seem to know the players names, referring to them as "lad" "son" "mate" and even "baller" Worksop fans were very quiet until the winner went it when a chant of "yellows" went up. I thought it turned out to be a half decent game, Worksop were the better side overall but for all their passing and messing around at the edge of the box they didn't really give the Hallam keeper much to do, Hallam, were much more physically imposing and direct though.
