  1. Can remember these days as if they were yesterday, Taylor was fixated on the north stand being built for the 66 world cup. My dad was incandescent when he sold Quixall to Manure, then losing Catterick was his last straw. He was totally anti Taylor till he couldn't go due to ill health. Even in the early 70s when he was in the last months with Parkinsons he would get very agitated if he thought the club were putting the ground in front of the team. Now we have the man baby heavens only knows what dad would have thought about the state we are in now.
  2. Agree it would need a clean up but any brown field site in Sheffield would as well. I am amazed how fast buildings are erected on these type of sites, very soon after demolition and clearing. Two examples are the housing estates at Renishaw on the old foundry site and the old site of Chesterfield Cylinders in Chesterfield. ( I actually worked at the site some years back and would not want to own a house on that site .)
  3. Think we could use the Brown field site on Claywheels lane on the other side of the river from Winn Gardens and the training ground. Plenty big enough for stadium and car parking . tram access would be next door if Stocksbridge link ever gets done and near Penistone road for motorway access.
  4. Reckon we should make him a framed collage of all the ash from the burnt prayer papers he sets fire to whilst sat on the front row of the South stand trying to invoke the good luck gods . Please don`t try this at home kids , let it be a lesson in not gambling .
  5. Hang about ! The day that the Deputy PM resigns , along with a large reshuffle of the Cabinet . You say the first thing discussed across the cabinet table is the "plight of SWFC" ????? WOW!!!
  6. Can we christen this shirt Long John Silver? per your parrot on the shoulder reference
  7. Ah I remember it well ---- car keys in the fruit bowl ---- Cheese fondue and cream crackers --- jumpers for goal posts
  8. Dad Dad if we get taken over by the Yanks, shall we go over to a America to win there mascot races?
  9. "Hubble Bubble Toil and Trouble"
  10. PS --- (sorry forgot to mention) Must have thick skin to stomach dealing with present owner.
