  4. It’s been an emotional week for everyone connected with Sheffield Wednesday. The players showed incredible heart at West Brom, and the supporters have shown heart all week — through everything you’ve done for this club. Now it’s time to bring that same fight home. On Wednesday 5 November, we return to Hillsborough for Blue & White Night — and this one means more than just football. I know it’s Bonfire Night. I know there are other places you could be. But this is our night, and it’s definitely our fight — a night to light up Hillsborough with pride, passion, and belief. The team gave everything on the pitch at West Brom, and they’ll give everything again on Wednesday. What they need now is you — a full, loud, together Hillsborough behind them. Come early, wear your blue and white colours, and be part of the atmosphere: • Turnstiles open at 6:00pm • Pie & Pint for £7.50 until 6:45pm • Pie & Pop for £6 until 6:45pm • Music, colour, and a full pre-match build-up inside the ground We’ve made sure the bars and kiosks are fully stocked — with plenty of food and beer ready. We’ve brought in extra staff and will be trialling a new payment method (announcement coming soon) to help serve you quicker than ever before, so you can enjoy the build-up and be in your seats for kick-off. We have also significantly increased our matchday programme order for this fixture. Every single ticket helps. Each of you can make a difference. This club is fighting — and together, we’ll get through this to a bright future.

  5. Other drinks are available and it dosn't matter if a salad is your thing.... We Won, it's over. I said I wouldn't do another one these things, this could be part of another OMDT or the opening post, but I wanted to put some stuff down overnight your time. Put a bit of "effort in" for once. For me, today isn't about the result, win, lose or draw. How many we score, (although we are all on the pitch if ugbo does), Who plays 1-11. The debate around how much hair Bannan (legend) has lost during this period due to stress or the other the other weird debates I find myself having in my head, that would probably end up in an Internet pile on. Today is about you, the fans. The ones that enabled the change. It doesn't matter if you started boycotting 8 years ago, 6 months ago or 1 week ago. You enabled the change and removal of that man (and I use the term man loosely). You all did your bit, dosn't matter how big or small. Celebrate, be proud, be loud. You did it and as a fellow fan, I'm grateful. Thank you. Our ancestors created this club and you've given it a chance that it'll be passed onto our kids. However, now is also the time to also give thanks to the staff. The ones on the front line. They need you, every single one of you. Every purchase funds them big or small. Rise up on ten mins and give them a clap. They deserve it. Every purchase today and going forward helps them. Helps us. Now is the time to get spending, if you can afford it. Celebrate the non footballing staff, the players and coaches, anyway you can. Stick together and continue to work together. It can be done, it can be funded and the club will come out the other end of admin sooner than we think. You've demonstrated you can do it that. You've proved it. Look what you have achieved already. By working together. And with this, I hope to fade more into the background and well, just get back to enjoying the actual football. Or maybe a party down the Goldie with Lowry and R-sole. Because that's what it's all about, the football and the swfc community. No matter what corner of the globe you find yourself in. Remember, you are never alone as Wednesday fan....ever. We got OUR Wednesday back. Anyway and more importantly. Anyone know where I put that rum last night at 2am? Bet the bloody pugs had it and hidden it... The c*"t. Enough musing, that chicken ceaser salad isn't going to make itself for dinner. C'est fini Bob

  7. Sheffield Wednesday fans are amazing - but I’ve always known that! I can genuinely say, this is the first thing that has amazed me since Friday. 54 minutes to raise £10,000 with nothing in return. Absolutely incredible. Thank you so much! Heart pounding stuff WAWAW

  8. I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my tv and couldn’t get some of the channels despite trying all the resets. So, asked a guy I know that knows a bit about televisions if he would pop round this morning. He sorted the problem out and fitted a new receiver and the picture is now brilliant. However, when it came to ask him how much I owed him he said nothing but put the money to Sheffield Wednesday to help pay the wages. Despite telling him that they were now covered until the end of Jan his reply was really heartwarming - he said he had always liked Barry Bannan who played for a short time with Bolton Wanderers and after seeing his wonder goal last week he said he thought Barry was still one of the great players outside the Premiership that he really enjoyed watching and epitomizes what he likes in a good footballer. i thought that was great coming from a very staunch Bolton supporter so when I come to the Derby game I’m going to donate £50 to the club as instructed by Phil my tv repair man. A Great Gesture from a Wanderers fan.

  10. That is my plea. I don't care how painful or how much of a ******** we're taking come final whistle on Sunday. Each and everyone of us needs to stay to the end and thank the boys on the pitch. Never have I ever gone into a derby expecting to lose. Neve have I gone into one with my team on minus points. Never have I gone into one having not seen my team win at home in months. I don't give a flying Warnock. Those lads wearing the blue and white regardless of score, and I believe we can turn those ******** over, will deserve just like at Oxford and Norwich a standing ovation coming onto and more importantly leaving it. Do not let the emotions of the day detract from what each and every one of those players, coaching team, medical, school and whoever else has played a part in getting this fixture to be played this season have done. We owe them. WAWAW

  12. Like every other Wednesdayite, I'm absolutely thrilled with the departure of the man who has done so much damage to our club for so long. I went to the game on Saturday - my first in over a year - with my old man, walked down Penistone Road, had a pint in the Riverside, and grumbled about the referee, listened to Praise or Grumble on the way home. It was absolute bliss. The final result couldn't have been more irrelevant. Hopefully, there is now a light at the end of the tunnel, and our once great club can be taken off life support and become one of the most well-respected football clubs in England, as it has been for so much of its existence. But, we have to learn from our past mistakes, as supporters. When he-who-shall-not-be-named took over the stewardship of the club, every single one of us - myself included - were so excited to see how the club could finally be dragged into the 21st century, and maybe back to the top table of English football. The football in that first season, and even the second, was the best we've seen this century, and you can't argue with results, but right from the very earliest days, warning signs were there that this new era was a poo-or-bust enterprise, relying solely on our ability to get to the Premier League. Not only that, decisions were being made that went against everything the club stood for. Ticket prices sky-rocketed, our home kit was altered - as was the club badge. Supporters weren't asked, but many were seemingly prepared to accept any change so long as results on the pitch brought about PL football. In the last week we've seen just what Sheffield Wednesday means to so many people. We all know that we were on course for League One, and with a points deduction that's been made almost certain - but 27,000 fans turned out nonetheless to support their team - spend money in the club shop. It wasn't about what happened on the pitch. We need to remember that. Getting to the Premier League, qualifying for Europe, winning cups - they're dreams that fans of all clubs have, and with ours having experience of doing all of the above, it's tempting to think that they are the ultimate goals we need to strive for. But they're not the be-all and end-all. Of course we want to win games, be competitive, be the best we can be, but some things are more important than our standing in the football world. Our sense of identity, the community we serve, the memories we make - they're all more important than a place higher up the pyramid. Sadly, I felt that for much of the early years under 'him', our fanbase was reluctant to show its disdain because he had 'had a go'. Yes he did, but at a great cost - not just financially - but in terms of what it means to be a Wednesdayite. It took a long long time - far too long - for the majority to see what was happening. And when we did finally see it, it took even longer for us to act on it. Hats off to the guy on Catchbar Lane who held up anti-Chansiri banners around 2018. To the guy who ripped down his banner from the back of the Kop. To the lads who threw tennis balls on the pitch when the majority (myself included) didn't have the guts. To the fellas who went on the pitch against Coventry. To the 1867 Group, who put their heads above the parapet when no-one else would. I can remember meeting Jim and Rob from 1867 at the back of Hillsborough Leisure Centre to help carry boxes of them down Penistone Road - there were too many for two people and no-one else was there. Getting the leaflets knocked out of my hands on Leppings Lane while on crutches was the lowest point of my Wednesday supporting life. Finally, thank god, the majority got on board, and the actions of the fanbase this season has undoubtedly been a major factor in the change in circumstances we had last week. It should have happened sooner, but we got there. We now have to learn the lessons from the past. Whoever the new owner(s) is, we have to hold them accountable. That doesn't mean laying the boot in on day one, or holding mass protests when early mistakes are made, but recognising red flags when they show, and reacting appropriately. Whether it's Mike Ashley, John Textor, Donald Trump or Mother Theresa - we have to let them know what being a Wednesdayite means, and what they can and can't do while they're the guardian of our club. Let's never be anyone's pushover ever again. Up the Owls.

  15. Last night when I got to the gates I realised I had lost my wallet, with the tickets inside. I went back to my car hoping to come across it. A kind gentleman helped me look in the surrounding area and a phone call home confirmed I had lost it somewhere around the ground. Just as I started to cancel my cards, my phone rang and it was Sheff Wed main reception. They told me someone had found my wallet and dropped it off with them. I just want to thank the person(s) who picked up my wallet and handed into the club, such a brilliant act when it would have been easier to take a different option. I then want to thank the reception staff, Alastair and stewards who helped get this back to me. I really do appreciate all the help / kindness. The generosity will be passed on. Thanks again. WAWAW.

  16. Hearing that most of the interested parties looking to buy SWFC may well be attending the Norwich City match and in particular a couple that as Wednesday fans we REALLY want to buy us As you might see/hear/read - this means that this will be the last match for our fans to show any potential buyers just what we can do, what our crowds can be like, how big our fanbase is - It's very likely that there won't be another opportunity before the administration era ends and the club is bought by someone This means that the Norwich City match is probably the most important home game in years and years as it could make the difference between who we get as our new owners So I guess it's down to every single one of us now to do whatever we humanly can to get to the Norwich game BUT/AND also to bring friends, family, colleagues and workmates along too if possible We definitely need to be hitting that 30,000+ mark which is easily possible if everyone buys tickets asap, and given that this weekend is pay day for many people too which will allow many of our amazing fans to be able to afford to snap up tickets As always on Owlstalk we'll keep a countdown / running total going to show how we're getting on I'm expecting numbers to jump once everyone's been paid this week and fans start to snap up the tickets Remember - bring someone with you whether it's family, friends, workmates, blokes from down the pub, lapsed season ticket holders, people who fell out with the club under Chansiri etc etc - do whatever you humanly can to get them to come and have a party at the Norwich match With 30,000 in the ground, and with a party atmosphere we will be able to show and demonstrate to any new potential owners who we might really want to own us exactly who we are and how MASSIVE our fanbase is Let's do this

  20. George Hirst is now playing for Scotland, possibly going to the World Cup, has played in the Premier League and is probably earning more than 90% of our squad We're on our way to League One and haven't paid our players regularly for the last 8 months. I'd say that justifies the decision to seek other opportunities

  22. The 1867 Group The Trust Clive Betts and local MPs Everyone who boycotted the ‘Boro game All who peacefully invaded the pitch Every single supporter who has taken part in the organised protests over the last 2 seasons All who have made the hard choice to stay away, give up their pies and pints, avoid the supererstore - for the good of our club’s future The local and national journalists, and football pundits, who’ve covered our plight and given airtime to our calls for Chansiri to go It’s not over yet but you all should be immensely proud of playing your part in piling on the pressure that’s forced today’s outcome. Well done each and everyone of you - you really are All Wednesday You Are! Thanks too to the supporters of other clubs who have stood with us along the way What at day this is!

  24. ...I’ll walk back into Hillsborough for the first time in two and a half years after a self-imposed absence in protest at Chansiri. Driving to work this morning I thought I'd put on a few Wednesday related tunes. Everything was fine until the first few bars of Waterfront came on… and I was gone, absolutely gone. I’d told myself it was just football. That I didn’t really miss it. Maybe it was self preservation, I dunno, but I was wrong. This club has a way of pulling you back, no matter how far you’ve drifted or how much time has gone by. Tonight, I’ll climb the steps onto the North Stand with my young 'un and see that spectacle once again. That light at the end of the tunnel just got a bit brighter and it finally feels like the start of getting this great club back on the right track. Enjoy tonight everyone. Wawaw. And just in case you want a listen...

  29. You should beat us easily on Sunday. You’ve got a multi million pound squad, ours is patched together and threadbare. You should gain absolutely no sense of achievement by beating us. Should you fail to win, it will potentially be the most embarrassing Sheffield Derby result you’ve ever had. You’ve spent your millions. Your parachute payments are running out. You tried to blame your abject start to the season on Selles, brought Wilder in as a final roll of the dice hoping it would change things, but amusingly ‘the messiah’s’ return hasn’t had the desired effect. All we hear from the fans and Wilder is the ‘January transfer window can’t come quick enough’ again to try and place all the blame at Selles door due to poor recruitment. How you need ‘a number 9’ despite you having to watch Moore score for fun for Wrexham. Bet you wish you’d not made him the scapegoat for another bottle job and tactically lacking performance from the players and manager in the play off final. You’re only a place above us despite us being at our lowest ebb in our history. We can sense your fear. That joy of us almost going out of business has been replaced by fear that new owners are going to see the potential of this older, more successful club, come in, invest, and truly reawaken this sleeping giant. They will hopefully reap the rewards of that investment and take us forward. Potentially leaving you in our midst. That’s what’s worrying you. We know that, you know that. Should you beat us on Sunday-and at the other Steel City Derby later in the season-the gloating will be the most intense it’s ever been, because it’ll be fuelled by that fear. You’ll want one last dig before the tide potentially turns. Well you’re welcome to it, because even in administration there is genuinely no way I’d swap our position for yours. I’m sure we’ll get relegated this year but we will hopefully get that investment, rebuild and come back stronger and enjoy watching the tide of success turn once again in the city. We’ll see you on Sunday, try and behave yourselves, and remember the pressure is all on you. But should you beat us, the victory will be as hollow as your trophy room.

  31. Nice piece by @Toadie https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/dejphon-chansiri-mayor-sheffield-wednesday-5379399 Loving these quotes/anecdotes from Clive Betts! "...The administrators then worked very hard to persuade Chansiri. By their own admission he was a very difficult man to deal with. But we’ve all had experience of that, haven’t we?" Betts was also able to confirm rumours that Chansiri had reached out to South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard in a desperate late attempt to ease pressure from HMRC and buy himself more time to work his way out of a desperate situation. It came after Sheffield MPs had made efforts to engage with him some months ago by way of open letter - attempts that were roundly ignored. Betts continued: “The answer came back ‘Who are these people and what’s it got to do with them?’ That was a rather dismissive response from him and that’s as far as we ever got. The only communication he ever made with anyone political was when out of the blue last Monday he suddenly got in touch with the Mayor and asked if he could talk to him “The Mayor being the Mayor is responsible to all the people in South Yorkshire. He had a conversation and without going into details and breaching confidentiality, I think Mr Chansiri’s ideas of what the Mayor could do, including stopping the tax man from suing him, were perhaps a little removed from reality. “Perhaps in Thailand that’s how it works; a senior business person phones the local Mayor up and suddenly the tax man doesn’t want his money anymore. But it doesn’t happen like that in this country and that was pretty well established quite quickly.” Absolute GOLD!

Dear all, Once all the blue seats are back in place the whole stand could do with a blow torch team to restore each seat back to looking beautiful and new again and the same colour blue I’m pretty sure Owlstalk could fund this work if we clubbed together if we wanted it done However it would mean the money not going to the club so wouldn’t benefit the club financially when that’s the main objective of the administrators right now But I’m happy to pledge to help finance this work to get done as and when the time is right if needed The last ten years has been personally horrible for me under the last regime so to rid the stadium of his name is a personal thing as much as it is a wider thing amongst fans So pledge done - Owlstalk is ready to help with this as and when or if needed at the time it’s ready to be done Neil

  37. A great atmosphere in the ground yesterday which, maybe, drowned out the band. I didn't hear them and assumed that they were at The Etihad with England. If they were, on such a momentous day for SWFC, where does their loyalty lay? A few weeks ago they were doing their best to try and drown out any anti-chancer chants, is it finally time to say goodbye?
